Three Council Rock South Teens Killed in One-Car Crash

Three Council Rock South students were killed in a car accident Saturday in Wayne County, officials confirmed Sunday.
Cullen Keffer, Shamus Digney and Ryan Lesher, all sophomores, were killed in the one-car accident around 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Paupack Township.
Keffer was pronounced dead at the scene; Digney and Lesher died later Saturday at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The three teens were among six police found in the Chevrolet Suburban when they arrived at the accident scene. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that a fourth Council Rock South student was involved in the crash but sustained non-life threatening injuries.
No information as to what may have caused the crash has been released as of Sunday evening.

“It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the deaths of three sophomores from Council Rock High School South,” Superintendent Mark Klein said in a statement. “Council Rock offers its sincere condolences to the families of these students and to all who are grieving this terrible loss.”
To allow students an opportunity grieve, Council Rock High School South will be open for students and families Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. Counselors will be available for students and parents to offer support and guidance, according to Klein.
