Three Hurt In Dump Truck, Car Collision In Wrightstown

WRIGHTSTOWN, PA — Three people were hurt late Friday morning when a car and dump truck collided in the 900 block of Swamp Road in Wrightstown Township.

The accident happened at 11:49 a.m. between 2nd Street Pike and Penns Park Road, according to Newtown Township Police.

Firefighters from the Lingohocken Fire Company and Newtown Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and extricated an occupant from the car.

Police said both occupants of the car were critically injured in the crash. The operator of the truck also received moderate injuries. All three were taken to St. Mary Medical Center by emergency medical personnel from Central Bucks EMS.

Newtown crash investigators were on the scene and processing the crash Friday afternoon.

"It initially appears that speed and failure to maintain lane of travel by the passenger car’s
operator was the causation factor of the collision," police said.
