Thunderstorms Possible Tuesday Evening

If you have outdoor activities planned this evening, be aware there is a chance of thunderstorms in the Philadelphia region.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook, saying there is a chance for storms, with the possibility of them being severe. The primary hazard is strong winds, heavy rain and localized flooding, the NWS said.

The Weather Channel puts the chance of thunderstorms at about 75 percent at 8 p.m. There is a lower chance of isolated storms before that. Later in the night, the risk is still present but the probably decreases to between 50 and 60 percent likelihood.

This Afternoon: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 83. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 1am, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
