​Traffic Stop In Newtown Township Yields Suspected Narcotics: Police

Police also investigated two retail thefts at the Village at Newtown and conducted a truck safety detail on the Newtown Bypass.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA - The Newtown Township Police Department responded to the following calls between Dec. 23 and 28:

December 23

  • At approximately 2 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge minivan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Township Line Road and Mill Creek Road in Wrightstown Township. As a result of the investigation, the passenger was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department, and suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results.

  • The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail on the Newtown Bypass in the area of Campus Drive. The unit is made up of officers from Newtown Township, Newtown Borough and Upper Makefield. During the detail, eight trucks were stopped and inspected and no violations were found.
  • Police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center at 1 p.m. for the report of a retail theft that occurred earlier in the month and another retail theft that occurred earlier that day. Both incidents are under investigation.
