Trenton Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Wreck on I-95

Pennsylvania State Police have identified the victim of Thursday’s multi-vehicle accident on I-95 in Bensalem.

Paul Mirys, 58, of Trenton died in the wreck, which happened around 1:15 p.m. on the northbound lanes.

According to State Police, Mirys attempted to avoid another accident that had just happened but collided with the vehicles. He hit the guardrail and flipped his truck, which was carrying scrap metal, state police said.

The wreck closed I-95 between Woodhaven Rd and Street Rd from the time of the accident through just before midnight, the Bucks County Courier Times reported.

Mirys was an employee of Sims Metal Management and was delivering a load of scrap to Morrisville, the company said in a statement. “We are all in shock over this tragic event, and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and to everyone affected,” said company spokeswoman Victoria O’Neill.

“Safety is always our number one priority at Sims, and we take every incident of this nature very seriously. We work hard every day to ensure the safety of drivers, the community and all Sims employees,” O’Neill said.
