The Tri-Township Senior Babe Ruth 16-18 year-old team captured the Pennsylvania Senior Babe Ruth State Championship on July 20 in Lehighton after competing through a double-elimination tournament undefeated.

Tri-Township, representing Bucks County, achieved a perfect 4-0 record, the hard way, but with heart and unyielding effort. In the final game, Tri-Township never said die, when it rallied from 4 runs down in the top of the 7th, scoring seven unanswered runs in 7-4 win.

With little rest, the team started States within a matter of days. The state tournament started Thursday and Tri-Township won the first two games in impressive fashion. On Wednesday, Tri-Township’s team remained hot as Regionals began with an 11-1 win. That victory was followed by a 5-2 win on Friday over Bergen County. On Saturday, Tri-Township held a lead going into the 7th, but gave up 4 runs, losing 7-6. This type of loss could have taken the heart of many teams, but not this team. Hours later, they rebounded with another 11-1 win earning them a chance to replay the only team to beat them. And did they, coming back through the losers bracket they defeated them 7-1 and 3-0, earning them the regional crown.

So, in the end, Tri-Township 16-18u Senior Babe Ruth Team is going back to the World Series after winning States with an undefeated record, and strongly rebounding with cohesiveness, character, and commitment......This is almost Deja Vue of our 2011 National World Series Runner-Up, 22-1 record---EXCEPT, they hope, that this year their only loss on the national trail has already happened. Is this true.....we shall see together.
