Troop 99 Eagle Scout Lee Kownurko

Lee Kownurko of Troop 99 said "he is proud to join the rank of Eagle with all of his brother scouts who have become Eagles before him".

A junior fire fighter with Upper Makefield Fire Company since the age of 14, it wasn’t a surprise when Lee chose them as the recipient of his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project. Lee designed a pair of replica emblems for the company and then led a group of volunteers to create and paint them.

On his trail to Eagle, Lee held several leadership positions moving from an Assistant Patrol Leader through to Senior Patrol Leader on camping trips to Hawk Mountain and West Point Scoutmaster Council’s Camporee.

The Washington Crossing resident is the son of Karen Lee Kane Kownurko and the late Kirk Kownurko. Lee is a member of the Council Rock High School North class of 2015. He participated in marching band as tenor captain, the winter and spring track teams, Ski & Snowboard Club and Rhythm of the Rock acapella ensemble. He is a freshman at Penn State’s Main Campus where he is studying business.
