Truck Overturns, Spills Load Of Asphalt In Upper Makefield
The accident forced the closure of Woodhill Road for hours on Friday as tow crews worked to right the overturned truck.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Woodhill Road reopened late Friday afternoon after a truck overturned early Friday afternoon spilling its load of asphalt.
Firefighters, police and EMS crews responded to the scene shortly after the accident happened in the area of Shannon Road.
No one was injured in the crash, but it left quite a mess to clean up, including 22 tons of asphalt that spilled alongside the roadway, according to the Upper Makefield Police Department.

The accident remains under investigation, but preliminarily it appears that the truck's brakes failed as the vehicle was coming down the hill on Shannon Road, police said.
The police department's motor carrier inspection officer will be conducting a full inspection of the vehicle.
