2-Car Crash In Wrightstown Claims Life Of 49-Year-Old Woman
Newtown Township Police are investigating the crash, which happened Friday evening on Worthington Mill Road.
WRIGHTSTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A 49-year-old woman died Saturday less than a day after being involved in a two car crash on Friday evening, April 28 on Worthington Mill Road in Wrightstown Township.
According to Newtown Township Police, a preliminary investigation shows that a 2019 Audi traveling east on Worthington Mill Road toward Durham Road lost control on a bend in the roadway in the area of Mud Road and was unable to regain control and crashed into a 2017 Subaru traveling west on Worthington Mill in the opposite lane.
The driver of the Subaru was extricated from her vehicle by volunteers with the Lingohocken Fire Company and was transported by EMS to St. Mary Medical Center with severe injuries, police said. She was later listed in extremely critical condition at St. Mary.

On Saturday, April 29 the woman succumbed to her injuries, police said.
The two occupants of the Audi - a 17 year old male and an 18 year old male - were treated for non-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Detective Frank Goodwin, Newtown Township Police Department, at 267-756-8066.
Worthington Mill Road between Durham and Swamp roads was closed for several hours while police conducted an investigation.
