Two Charged With Shoplifting At Ulta: Newtown Township Police Report
Police also make protection from abuse arrest; investigate theft from construction site; and make suspected DUI arrests.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between March 11 and 16:
March 11
- At 2 a.m. police took a man into custody without incident for violating a Protection From Abuse Court Order on March 10. The subject was arraigned by District Judge Douple and was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
- Police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty at approximately 6:45 p.m. for the report of a retail theft in progress. As a result of the investigation, two women were taken into custody and charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property. One of the women was also charged with providing false identification to law enforcement.
March 12

- At approximately 12:45 a.m. police stopped a Volkswagen sedan driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Parkview Way and Short Lane. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
March 13
- At approximately 11:45 p.m. police attempted to stop a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham and Pineville roads. As a result of the investigation, a man was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police.
March 15

- At approximately 7 p.m. police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty for the report of a retail theft. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
March 16
- Shortly before 3 p.m., a theft was reported from a construction site in Newtown Township. The investigation is ongoing.
