Update On Bucks Co. Double Homicide Expected At Noon

There will be a noon news briefing on the double homicide investigation in Northampton Township, the District Attorney's office said.

Authorities in Bucks County continue to probe a double homicide after the bodies of a married couple were discovered Tuesday in a Northampton Township home. Officials have planned a noon news briefing in Northampton Township, the District Attorney's office said.

The couple, who have not yet been identified, were discovered dead on the second floor of their Kitty Knight Drive home Tuesday morning by a painter who had been doing work on the house. Police have not yet said how the pair died. A rifle and shell casings were found inside the home, but it's not clear at this time that those items have any connection with the deaths of the young couple, estimated to be in their late 20s or early 30s.

As of Wednesday morning, no suspects had been revealed by the Northampton Township Police Department. Police are looking for a missing car belonging to a victim but as of Wednesday morning, authorities were not offering a description of that vehicle.

Authorities have said there is no evidence of forced entry. A neighbor told NBC10 they heard a car alarm go off outside the couple's home around 10 p.m. Monday.

The news of the killings has shocked this quiet neighborhood, which is nestled near a school and less than two miles from the small town of Richboro.

"Is this something we should be concerned about? Is this like a random/home invasion scenario or a personal target scenario? It would be nice to know since my kids like to be outside all day," one resident commented under a police Facebook post announcing the investigation.

Others questioned why the nearby schools were not placed on lockdown. "There is not enough information being given to know if the general public is safe. It’s not like we all are used to this every day," the commenter wrote.

Meanwhile police, at a Tuesday evening news briefing, say they are pursuing all leads and that it is a very fluid investigation. Additional police patrols will be instituted in the neighborhood throughout the week.

"I can't say don't be alarmed. You should be alarmed," Northampton Township Police Chief Mike Clark said.

Here is a map of the neighborhood, which is near Maureen M. Welch Elementary School.
