UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Upper Makefield has added a new piece of equipment to its emergency response fleet.

Utility Vehicle 71 (UTV71) arrived at the Upper Makefield Fire Station on Taylorsville Road this week and will be available for use by the fire company, police department, emergency medical responders, and mutual aid companies for emergencies and scheduled events.

The unit, purchased from Smith Marine in New Britain, is one of two vehicles acquired by the township's emergency services following last year's flash flooding that claimed the lives of seven in July 2023.
