Upper Makefield's Newest Full-Time Officer Takes Oath
For the last 10 months, Officer Colin Murphy has served as a part-time officer in Yardley Borough.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Colin Murphy was sworn in on Wednesday as Upper Makefield’s newest full-time police officer.
During a ceremony at the District Court in Newtown, Judge Mick Petrucci administered the oath before a courtroom filled with family, friends and Upper Makefield police officers.
Murphy is a Northampton Township native and an assistant ice hockey coach at Council Rock High School South.

After graduating from Temple University where he earned a degree in criminal justice, he earned his police officer certification from the Temple University Municipal Police Academy.

Officer Murphy began his field training on Wednesday with Officer Vitello serving as his field training officer.
