Utility Vehicle Stolen, Resident Falls Victim To Scam: Newtown Police

Charges pending against two drivers after suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Feb. 10 and 14:

February 10

  • A Wrightstown Township resident responded to headquarters at 3:45 p.m. to report a fraud involving a mailed check that was stolen and altered. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • A Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters around 4:30 p.m. to report fraudulent access to their bank account after they fell victim to a scam. The bank closed the account and is investigating the incident.

  • Around 1:45 a.m. police were dispatched to the area of North Sycamore Street for the report of an assault. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

February 13

  • At approximately 12 p.m. police were contacted in regards to a stolen John Deer Gator from Council Rock North High School grounds. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

  • A Wrightstown Township business owner contacted police at 10:30 a.m. to report a fraud involving a forged business check. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • At approximately 9:15 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Rogue operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lower Silver Lake Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results.
  • At approximately 11:30 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results.
