Citation Issued For Trespassing Following Disturbance In Newtown
Township police conduct truck detail on River Road near Lookout Park; two vehicles taken off the road.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents between May 27 and May 31:
May 27
- Police were dispatched to a business located on South Eagle Road at approximately 7 a.m. for the report of a theft. A vintage stainless-steel cabinet with a wooden top, valued at $3,000, was taken from behind the business at approximately 4:15 a.m. on May 26. The investigation is ongoing at this time, and police are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the suspects.

- Police were dispatched to a business located on West Road at approximately 7:15 p.m. for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one subject will be cited for trespassing.
May 29
- Police conducted an 11-mile bike patrol detail throughout the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, Newtown Depot, Sycamore Street, Chandler Hall, Cambridge Lane, Council Rock High School North, and other nearby areas. In addition, the bike patrol provided traffic control for the Memorial Day Parade.

- The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of Lookout Park in Upper Makefield. The unit is made up of officers Newtown Township, Newtown Borough and Upper Makefield. During the detail, nine trucks were stopped and inspected, and two were placed out of service. Nine citations and five warnings were issued for violations that were found.
