Violent words scrawled on a desk prompted an investigation at Council Rock North. It turned out to be song lyrics, and there is no threat.

NEWTOWN, PA — Council Rock North school officials investigated Thursday after violent words were found written on a desk. Authorities determined the words to be song lyrics and there is no threat to students, district officials assured parents in an evening email.
According to an email from school principal Susan McCarthy, a message that included violent wording was found on the desk Thursday and subsequently posted to social media. School district officials investigated and alerted authorities.
"Please know that a thorough investigation revealed no credible threat," McCarthy wrote. The District Supervisor of Security was able to identify the student who wrote the words, which were confirmed to be song lyrics.

The name of the song was not shared by authorities.
Local police were notified of the incident out of "an abundance of caution," McCarthy said.

"Please assure your student, if he or she is concerned about coming to school tomorrow as a result of this incident, that there is no need for alarm," McCarthy wrote. She noted she welcomes questions from parents on the matter.
