WASHINGTON CROSSING, PA — In celebration of the Friends of Washington Crossing Park's 10th anniversary, a special “Colonial Cocktails & Cuisine” event is planned for Saturday, Sept. 28 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The event, a fundraiser for the Friends, will feature a sampling of colonial-inspired cocktails and gourmet hors d’oeuvres. Lanterns will light the way as guests walk through the park’s historic buildings. An encampment of Revolutionary War reenactors will be there, as well.

"The firing of a cannon will summon guests to dinner, music and a silent auction featuring items from throughout Bucks County and beyond," according to an event announcement.

The non-profit Friends of Washington Crossing Park was formed in 2009 to save the annual crossing reenactment in the wake of state budget cuts.

Today, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Friends help staff the park, offer guided tours, run field trips for 10,000 students a year, and stage numerous living history events.
