Watch The Reenactment Of Washington's Historic River Crossing This December
Get to Washington's Crossing Dec. 11 or on Christmas day to watch the reenactment.

George Washington crossing the icy Delaware River on Dec. 26, 1776 is one of the most iconic images in the history of the United States and for years the crossing that was pivotal in earning our independence has been reenacted a the historic Washington's Crossing Park in Bucks County.
This year is no different.
Several hundred reenactors will be participating in the crossing reenactment on Dec. 11 and Christmas Day, Dec. 25. The reenactors will be dressed in Continental army uniforms, hear a speech from General George Washington, and row across the Delaware in replica Durham board.

The reenactment on Dec. 11 will open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the actual crossing happening at 1 p.m. The day will also feature special colonial-era activities and demonstrations throughout the historic village to provide families with a full day of fun and learning.
The cost to attend the Dec. 11 event is $8 for adults, $4 for kids five to 11 years old, and free for kids under five. Money generated from Dec. 11 ticket sales will help support future programs at Washington Crossing Park.

And for the 64th year in a row, reenactors will take to the river on Christmas Day at 1 p.m. to show the public how the army crossed the Delaware Rive to take on the Hessians in Trenton, securing a crucial victory in the Revolutionary War.
The Christmas Day crossing event is free to attend with the park opening for the crossing at noon.
the actual river crossing reenactments are dependent on the weather for the reenactors. But if the weather does not permit a crossing, ceremonies, speeches and commemorative activities will still go on as planned.
Washington Crossing Historic Park is located at 1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, near the intersection of state Route 532 and River Road (sate Route 32).
