This Week: New Playground Opens In Newtown
The playground, located at Veterans Park, honors Noah Cohen, an infant who passed away from SIDS in 2010.

Good news for kids and parents: a new playground is opening this weekend in Newtown.
Noah’s Playground, located in Veteran’s Park, will make its debut on Saturday, Nov. 14 with a ribbon cutting celebration.
The playground honors Noah Cohen, an infant who passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in 2010.

Parents Natalie and Jason Cohen have raised more than $55,000 to bring the playground to fruition. Funds from Newtown’s Open Space bond allocation were also used to create the playground.
Special features of the playground include an inclusive design and a rubberized surface, according to Newtown Township Parks and Recreation.

The ribbon cutting celebration will feature several activities for children including a magic show, face painting and balloon artists.
The event goes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The magic show begins at 11:45 a.m.
Veteran’s Park is located at 234 Durham Road.
