Weekend Box Office Results: "Birds of Prey" Soars High

On the weekend of the Academy Awards and people trying to catch the films before the awards ceremony that occurred on February 9th, it has been a wild week for the box office and the box office results and the numbers show. "1917" is the Oscar Nominated film with the most revenue at the box office this weekend earning $9,000,000 while "Knives Out" beat "Little Women" by $25,000 (Knives Out earned $2,350,000 and Little Women earned $2,325,000)

But one movie of course has to be at the top spot and this weekend, that top spot went to the newly released film from Warner Bros and DC Comics: "Birds Of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" which earned $33 million dollars with the film only being out for 4 days. A film that has been hyped since the first teaser was released back in January 2019. The film did receive the high praise from the critics that they expected, receiving an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, "Birds of Prey" is at risk of losing its top spot with the upcoming release of "Sonic The Hedgehog" on February 14th. But, it is predicted that even with all the sales, the Sonic film will not be able to dethrone the DC Comics film as it is projected that BOP will earned over $80,000.00 in the coming week.
