Weekend At The Grange: Cattle And Beef Shows, Market Hog Auction, And Lots More

WRIGHTSTOWN, PA — There's still time to catch the Middletown Grange Fair. The fairgrounds on Penns Park Road will be open throughout the weekend offering lots of fun for the family.

Beef and cattle shows will be front and center on Saturday as 4-H members compete in the show arena. The Bucks County Cattle Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the Bucks County Beef Cattle Show is scheduled from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

And not to be missed are the the 4-H Hog Auction from 2 to 4 p.m. in the hog arena and a 4-H Alpaca and Llama Demonstration from 5 to 6 p.m. in the show arena. Both are taking place on Saturday.

The weekend's schedule also includes horse-drawn wagon rides by Hutch Hamilton from A Better Way Farms and opportunities to watch the Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean Thrill Show, a chainsaw carving demonstration, and the tractor pull finals.

Don't miss the large buildings brimming with community and 4-H exhibits, including tables filled with freshly-grown vegetables and fruit. See who won this year's blue ribbons and Grange Fair bragging rights.

And take some time out on Saturday to enjoy the Grange Fair's popular chicken dinner. It will be served from 3 to 8 p.m. in the fair's dining hall.

Saturday And Sunday At The Fair

Weather Forecast: On Saturday, it will be sunny with a high near 86. North wind around mph. On Sunday, there is a slight chance of showers before 2 p.m., with showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m. with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Animal Shows Saturday: 4-H Cattle Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the show arena. The 4-H Market Hog Auction from 2 to 4 p.m. in the hog arena. 4-H Alpaca and Llama Demonstration from 5 to 6 p.m. in the show arena. And the 4-H Beef Cattle Show from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in the show arena. Animal Shows Sunday: 4-H Goat Obstacle Course from 2 to 3 p.m. in the show arena and the 4-H Rabbit and Cavy Parade of Breeds from 3 to 4 p.m. in the show arena.
Live Shows Saturday: Chainsaw carving at 10:30 a.m., 1:30, 5, and 7 p.m., and Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean Thrill Show at 12, 4 and 8 p.m. Sunday: Chainsaw carving at 1:30 and 3 p.m. and the Pirate Thrill Show at 12 and 4 p.m.
Other Activities: Wagon rides by A Better Way Farm both days. Saturday: Tractor Pull Finals from 7 to 10 p.m. and a Mullet Contest at 8 p.m. Sunday: Open tractor pulls from 12 to 2 p.m., Lawn Tractor Blow-Up Bingo from 2 to 3 p.m. and the Raffle Tractor Drawing at 4 p.m.
Tractor Parade of Power: 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (Farewell Parade of Power) from 3 to 4 p.m.
Chicken Dinner: Served from 3 to 8 p.m. on Saturday only or until sold out at the dining hall.
Amusement Rides: Amusement rides open at 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission: Free. There is a $20 per car fee for parking, which benefits the Lingohocken Fire Company and the Bucks County Police Benevolent Association.
