When is the First Day of School?

It may be hard to believe, but the start of the new school year is less than a month away. Council Rock School District students in grades Kindergarden through sixth, as well as students in seventh and ninth return to the classroom Sept. 3. All students attend on Sept. 4.

• Sept. 5, 6: Schools closed, Rosh Hashanah.
  
• Oct. 2: Early dismissal grades K-8
• Nov. 25, 26: Early dismissal grades K-8
• Nov. 27, 28, 29: Schools closed, Thanksgiving recess
• Dec. 23-Jan. 1, 2014: Schools closed, winter break
• Jan. 2, 2014: Classes resume
• Jan 20, 2014: Schools closed, Martin Luther King Jr Day
• Jan. 27, 2014: Early dismissal, high school only
• Feb. 14, 2014: Schools closed, teacher in-service
• Feb. 17, 2014: Schools closed, Presidents' Day
• March 14, 2014: Early dismissal grades K-8
