Not anytime soon, forecasters predict.

Showers, heavy at times, will continue throughout the region Friday. New rainfall amounts will be between a tenth to a quarter of an inch an hour, the National Weather Service estimates. Thunder is possible, too.

Looks like Saturday won't be much better. There's a 40 percent chance of showers Saturday, with a break after 9 p.m. that night. But the break won't last long: more rain is predicted Sunday morning.

The good news is, there looks to be a clearing during the afternoon of Mother's Day. Sunday night and Monday will remain clear, the NWS predicts.

The dry weather will be brief — more rain is predicted Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tonight: Showers likely, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 48. Light northeast wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers before 9pm, then isolated showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. South wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Showers likely, mainly before 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. Breezy, with a northwest wind 9 to 14 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
