Windy Sunday Ahead For Eastern PA, Power Outages Possible: NWS
A high wind watch is in effect Sunday. Wind gusts of up to 55 mph are possible. Scattered power outages are expected, the NWS said.
A windy Sunday is predicted for Eastern Pennsylvania and forecasters are warning of associated power outages.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch from 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25. Winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts of up to 55 mph, the NWS said.
Rain is also expected throughout the day.

According to forecasters, a surge of winds late Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening may result in gusts up to 55 mph. "Another round of strong winds is expected to affect the area late Sunday night through Monday," the high wind watch states.
Residents should be aware that the winds will be strong enough to blow down limbs, tress, and power lines. "Scattered power outages are expected," the NWS said.

Due to the saturated ground and additional rainfall, "it will not take much wind to result in downed trees and power lines," the NWS said.
Here is the forecast for the week ahead:
Tonight: Rain, mainly after 7pm. Patchy fog after midnight. Low around 38. East wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: Rain before noon, then a chance of showers between noon and 4pm. Patchy fog before 10am. High near 58. Southeast wind 11 to 16 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 31. Breezy, with a west wind 21 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 40. Windy, with a west wind 23 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 24. Northwest wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 37.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 38.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 25.
