Yardley Woman Starts High-End Linen Line With Fashion And Textile Expertise

Rory O'Mara's experience as a cotton industry executive gave her the opportunities to bring her skills to Bucks County.

A former Cotton Incorporated executive has brought her knowledge of textiles and fashion to Bucks County, opening Saphyr Pure Linen in Yardley.

Rory O'Mara is a former Director of International Marketing at Cotton Incorporated and is using her skills to bring fine linen bedding made of French flax fibers.

The name "Saphyr" is the common name of the flower that blooms on the flax plant, where the linen fibers come from, according to a press release.

O'Mara emphasizes additional aspects of linen not as widely known, for example the therapeutic properties of the fabric and the notion that pure linen bedding can be “as warm in the cooler months as it is cool in the warmer months.”

As Director of International Fashion Marketing at Cotton Incorporated for many years, O'Mara was responsible for both Domestic and International Marketing, scouring markets globally to secure and present new ideas and trends to leading textile mills and manufacturers for research and development, a press release said. During her travels in Europe and around the world, Rory discovered the comfort of pure linen, giving her the inspiration to research and develop a brand of pure linen comfort bedding for the U.S. marketplace, according to a press release.
