Yardley's Pack 10 Cub Scouts "Love Their Park"
Cub scouts from Pack 10 spent the day volunteering, learning and having fun at 5 Mile Woods.
The cub scouts from Pack 10 in Yardley participated in Washington Crossing Council’s Love Your Parks initiative by doing a service project at 5 Mile Woods in Lower Makefield.
“We spent the afternoon sweeping the boarded trails, hammering in the bulging nails, raking the paths where needed and lining the paths with fallen logs. We picnicked in the woods and hauled out all of our tools and trash. It was a beautiful day” said Den Leader Gena Clark. “After, we sat in the outdoor classroom and talked about the items of 5 Mile Woods that we found and then checked off our scavenger hunt papers. I told them a bit of history of the place and about the topography Atlantic coastal plain and the plateau.”
Pack 10, which chartered by St. John’s Lutheran Church in Yardley, has completed an Earth Day project for the park for several years. For more information about scouting in Bucks County, please visit http://www.washingtoncrossingbsa.org/
