'This Is Your Grandson,' Phone Scammers Tell Newtown Residents
Scammers called multiple Newtown residents on the same day, trying to trick them into thinking it was their grandson who needed money.

Multiple Newtown Township residents reported receiving the same suspicious phone call on Feb. 5, according to police. The calls, in which the scammers pretended to be a relative needing money, were determined by officials to be scams.
The callers told their targets it was their grandson, and then requested large amounts of money, according to police.
