$1.5 Million In Infrastructure Work Underway In Montgomery County

Aqua has launched a series of infrastructure improvement projects totaling $1.5 million across Montgomery County.

A series of infrastructure projects totaling $1.5 million are currently underway across Montgomery County, according to Aqua Pennsylvania.

The projects, located in Abington, Cheltenham, and Plymouth, are all expected to be completed before the end of 2017, officials said.

  • Abington Township: a $600,000 project to replace cast iron water mains with iron pipe on Washington Lane between Township Line and Old York roads. A second $330,000 project will replace a main on Devon Road between Crosswicks and Upsal roads
  • Plymouth Township: a $323,000 to replace cast iron with iron on Carland Road from W. Ridge Pike to #100 Carland Road, and the right of way between Ridge Pike across from Belvoir Road to private road at #1323 Conshohocken Road.
  • Cheltenham Township: a $306,000 project to replace a main on Park Avenue from Montgomery Avenue to Stahr Road and Stahr Road from Church Road to Old York Road

The projects are expected to reduce discolored water and improve firefighting abilities around the area, officials said.
