NORRISTOWN, PA — Around 100 people were displaced after a large fire in East Norriton, and a shelter has been established at Norristown Area High School, according to multiple media reports, authorities, and Red Cross officials.

6ABC reports that the blaze began at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday at an apartment building on the 2600 block of Dekalb Pike.

It took crews about an hour to bring the fire under control, CBS3 states.

No injuries have been reported thus far.

Many of the units in the apartment building sustained smoke damage.

A Red Cross shelter will be opening at Norristown Area High School at 7 p.m. for those who were displaced.
