$150K Stolen From Norristown Business: Cops

An employee at a Norristown check-cashing business is suspected of stealing more than $150,000, police said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — More than $150,000 was stolen from a Norristown business by a former employee, according to police.

The Times Herald first reported the incident, which was responded to by police on Aug. 7 at around 12:51 p.m.

The owner at Marshall Street Cashing, located on 431 W. Marshall Street, said that an employee at the check-cashing business had consistently had totals that came up short, the report states.

From February through July, the owner said that the employee somehow stole a total of $151,000.

The money stopped going missing when the employee quit.

Police are investigating the case.
