2 Men Steal Several Cars, Arrested After High Speed Chase In Montgomery County: Cops
Two men, aged 21 and 17, were arrested in Montgomery County after stealing numerous vehicles, police said.

UPPER GWYNEDD, PA — Two men, aged 21 and 17, were arrested in Upper Gwynedd after stealing numerous vehicles, police said.
Authorities were tipped off to the pair when a resident on Cathy's Lane reported three strange vehicles in his driveway. Based on a description, police in Lansdale, Montgomery Township, and Towamencin, along with the PA State Police, coordinated to discover the identities of the individuals, and ultimately arrest them.
Jahmir Dwight Smith, 21, of Philadelphia, and a 17-year-old male, unidentified by authorities because of his age, were both charged with theft of a motor vehicle, conspiracy, theft from a motor vehicle, and related counts.

A Lansdale officer saw the cars leaving the area and obtained a registration number from one of them, which was then determined to be stolen, police said. The van following that car had also been stolen from the 1400 block of Cathy's Lane.
A Montgomery Township officer tried to stop the stolen vehicles at a traffic stop, but only the van stopped, police said, resulting in one arrest.

The other, an SUV, fled at a high rate of speed to the 1400 block of Marlyns Lane, where they got out, stole another car, and sped off to the Northeast Extension
Police were able to stop the vehicle at the Mid-County Interchange, and the second suspect was arrested there.
Smith was unable to post $10,000 bail and was sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Center. The juvenile was remanded to the Montgomery County Youth Center.
Residents are reminded to keep their vehicle doors locked and valuables out of sight.
Preliminary hearings for the suspects are forthcoming.
