2 Norristown Men Convicted In Murder Of Pottstown Teen

Two men have been convicted in the killing of a 16-year-old Pottstown boy in Norristown last summer.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Two Norristown men have been convicted on varying murder charges in the shooting death of a 16-year-old Pottstown boy last year.

Isiah Freeman, 19, has been convicted of first degree murder, and and William Durell Wilson, 31, the getaway driver, has been convicted of third-degree murder and related counts, according to court documents.

The pair had pleaded not guilty to, respectively, first and third degree murder, aggravated assault, and related counts in connection with the killing of Jordan Scott, 16.

Freeman could be sent behind bars for life, while Wilson is looking at decades of time.

The shooting was motivated by a dispute between gang members from Norristown and Pottstown.

The incident occurred on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at around 6:32 p.m. on the 600 block of Chain Street, according to police.

An investigation revealed that Wilson was driving a 2013 Dodge Charger while Freeman was in the front passenger seat, police said.

They saw the two teenagers walking near Chain and Oak streets and parked around the corner to wait for them. When the two arrived, they opened fire, authorities allege.

Scott was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at Mercy Suburban Hospital at 7:28 p.m., the DA said.

Another teenager with Scott was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle. He survived.

Both convicts are being held in Montgomery County Correctional Facility as they await sentencing.
