$700K Pipeline Construction Launches In Norristown; Aims To Improve Fire Protection
Construction work has been specifically planned for the evening to help limit traffic issues.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Construction has officially begun on Pennsylvania American Water's $700,000 pipeline project in Norristown.
Work began on September 26 to improve service reliability and enhance fire protection.
Crews are replacing approximately 1,700 feet of aging pipe with new eight-inch ductile iron main and installing two new hydrants along Main and Markley streets, according to a press release.

To minimize traffic disruption, construction will take place overnight between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday, PAW said.
Weather permitting, the pipe installation will be completed by the end of October, and final paving restoration is planned for this fall, the release states.

Motorists are urged to give themselves extra time while traveling through the area or find alternate routes.
Officials added that during construction, customers might experience temporary water service interruptions, discolored water, and lower than normal water pressure.
