After Disastrous 2016 Blizzard, Norristown Preps For Winter Storms
Snow removal was a major issue in Norristown after the blizzard of January 2016. The borough is taking additional steps ahead of winter.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- In the wake of the chaos that enveloped the borough after the blizzard of January 2016, Norristown is preparing itself ahead of the winter season.
Various initiatives have been put in place, including a new comprehensive "snow and ice control plan," updated ordinances on snow and ice control, and even a snowplow tracker, so that residents can know when to expect cleared streets.
The blizzard that hit the Philadelphia region and swamped Norristown in two-plus feet of snow on January 24 left many of the borough's narrow streets impassable for long periods of time.
