NORRISTOWN, PA — Hundreds of Norristown residents remain without water Wednesday morning as work continues to repair a water main break.
Pennsylvania American Water said their crews worked through the night to repair the break on DeKalb Street at the intersection with Elm Street.
Work is expected to be completed by around "midday," according to PAW.
"We appreciate everyone's patience," they said.
A total of 94 homes are impacted, with hundreds of total customers left without drinking water, the municipality said.
Bottled water is being distributed by Pennsylvania American Water, and there is a potable water tank at 1007 DeKalb Street for residents to fill their water up at.
DeKalb Street and Elm Street remain shut down until further notice.
The issue comes as extreme heat moves through the area, with the heat index soaring to 106 on Wednesday.
