'Assassin' Game Sparks Warnings From Police Around Montgomery County

Every year, the popular game sparks 911 calls from residents who think they see "armed" teens prowling, police said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Police around Montgomery County are alerting the public that teenagers are once again playing the popular "assassin" game, which has sparked 911 calls from concerned residents.

The game involves students stalking and shooting one another with the water pistols in a form of hide and seek.

Police and members of the school community have reported the game's popularity in Spring-Ford, Perkiomen Valley, Abington, Lower Moreland, Phoenixville, and elsewhere around the local area.

Police say that they receive complaints every spring from residents who believe they’re witnessing suspicious or criminal activity, only to find out it’s part of this game.

If students do participate, police urge them not to carry any kind of water pistol that could be mistaken for a real firearm, and do not trespass on private property.
