Basement Fire Quenched In Norristown, Under Investigation

NORRISTOWN, PA -- A basement fire in Norristown on Monday afternoon is under investigation, fire officials said.

The Jefferson Fire Company No. 1 and Norristown Fire Department responded to the blaze on the 300 block of Hamilton Street at about 5:42 p.m.

The flames were contained to the basement and were quickly extinguished, officials said.

The cause is unknown and is under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
