Body Found In Norristown Creek Identified By Police

The body of a man found in a creek in Norristown Saturday night has been identified by police.

Norristown, PA -- The body found in Stony Creek over the weekend has been identified, according to police.

The body belongs to Jameel Sabur, 21, of Norristown, officials said.

It is believed that the body was in the water for 12 to 24 hours before it was found under the Airy Street Bridge on Saturday night, according to police.

There were no obvious signs of trauma on the body when it was recovered.

Authorities said that they do not suspect foul play at this time.

A command post was established in the SEPTA parking lot on Main and Markley Streets during the recovery of the body, police said.

The body has been turned over to the Montgomery County Coroner, according to the police report.

An investigation is ongoing.
