Months into the offseason, the oft-injured Eagles franchise quarterback is still recovering from his latest ailment.
NFL.com reports that Carson Wentz is still recovering from his second straight season-ending injury, a broken bone in his back that led to the Eagles turning to Nick Foles for their playoff run yet again in the playoffs.
Wentz, 26, told reporters that he's still hopeful he'll be ready for official organized team activities, which start on May 21.

"It's still getting there. It's still getting there," he reportedly said on his back. "Some of this stuff just takes time, but that's not really the main concern, it's just kind of how I feel. I feel pretty good with where I'm at."

The Eagles will not have the safety net with Wentz that they did in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, as Super Bowl MVP Foles left this offseason when he was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Wentz and the Eagles will both hope that his injury struggles have been more bad luck than indicative of long term trends. They're slated to head into the 2019-20 season with 25-year-old Nate Sufeld, who has not had the chance to really prove himself at the professional level.
