Code Blue Issued In Montgomery County As Temperatures Plummet

Snow and temperatures in the teens are imminent.

NORRISTOWN, PA - A Code Blue Declaration was issued for Montgomery County on Tuesday morning as temperatures around the region plummeted into the 20’s.

The declaration is in effect from 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening through 9 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 14.

Code Blue indicates impending winter conditions which could pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter.

It’s usually called when the combination of air temperature and wind chill is anticipated to be 20ºF or less.

Surrounding counties had not yet issued a Code Blue as of 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Some snow is possible in the county at about noon Tuesday, although no accumulation is expected. Temperatures will drop to 20 degrees Tuesday night and 17 degrees Wednesday.

Today A slight chance of rain and snow showers between 11am and noon, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high near 42. South wind 10 to 18 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tonight A chance of snow showers before 7pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 20. West wind around 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Wednesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 29. West wind 13 to 15 mph.

Wednesday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 17. West wind 5 to 9 mph.

Thursday Partly sunny, with a high near 37. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.
