Conshohocken Elementary Students Design Tile Mural for Police Station

Conshohocken elementary school students and local police have a unique partnership.

The Conshohocken Police Department and Conshohocken Elementary School have been giving back to each other in various ways ever since their partnership began in 2015.

Officers come to the school to read to students during American Education Week.

They also started the school's first Bike Day, helped teach students to bike, and gave lessons on bike safety.

Students at Conshohocken Elementary are giving back, too: they recently completed a redecoration of tiles at the recently constructed police station.

Students were led in their work by art teacher Jen Fitzgerald and community volunteer Franco Sabato.

In designing the mural, students worked with Officer Steve Vallone, who was the mastermind behind the partnership.

"Conshohocken Elementary and the Conshohocken Police Department are looking forward to continuing this sustainable relationship in the years to come," police said in a statement.
