Construction Leads To Altered Traffic Pattern In Upper Merion
As workers put in the new bridge over 422, traffic patterns will look markedly different on Valley Forge Road.

Construction to replace a bridge over 422 will begin on Thursday, leading to a traffic pattern change on Valley Forge Road in Upper Merion, PennDOT authorities announced Tuesday.
The replacement of the Valley Forge Road bridge is part of the ongoing $97.4 million project to improve bridge travel over various 422 crossings, including over the Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road and the Schuylkill River Trail.
Crews will work Thursday, November 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., to set concrete barriers in place, officials said. Crews will also paint new traffic lines to move two lanes of westbound Valley Forge Road traffic to the far right side of the road, between the U.S. 422 west ramps and Gulph Road.

Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and the lane will shift to the center of the road where it passes through the U.S. 422 Interchange.
This traffic pattern will be in place through next summer.
