Construction To Slow I-476 Traffic At Mid-County Toll Plaza
I-476 traffic through Montgomery County will be considerably slowed as E-ZPass express lanes are shut down for construction.

I-476 traffic through Montgomery County will be considerably slowed as E-ZPass express lanes are shut down for construction.
Lane closures began on March 19 and will continue for three weeks, until April 10, the Pennsylvania Turnpike announced.
The lanes will be shut down in both the northbound and southbound directions, officials said.

While the closures will only be in place on the express lanes, this will in turn, of course heavily impact the toll lanes. The turnpike has subtly advised: "make travel plans accordingly."
E-ZPass customers will still be able to use the traditional E-ZPass lanes (5 mph) to the right of the express lanes.

During the closure, crews will be improving the overhead electronic tolling equipment the turnpike said.
Once this project is done, more construction is in Mid-County's future: two phases of pavement repairs on I-476 and and the eastbound and westbound ramps on I-276 are planned. All repairs should be completed by September of 2018, officials said.
