NORRISTOWN, PA — Health officials in Montgomery County are continuing contact tracing efforts with individuals possibly exposed to measles over the past week.
An unknown number of people were exposed after the child who was sickened traveled on a plane and bus and visited two major healthcare centers.
It's not yet clear what flight the infected, unvaccinated child was on at JFK in New York City on Feb. 25. But the child then took a China Airlines airport shuttle bus from Terminal 4 to Pho Ha Saigon in north Philadelphia, before visiting both True North Pediatrics Associates of Plymouth and CHOP's King of Prussia Campus Emergency Department on Feb. 26.

Individuals with a measles vaccine, which is more than 90 percent of America, are considered immune. Even in the very rare circumstances they do come down with an infection, symptoms are mild.
Symptoms of measles include cold-like symptoms, runny nose, red eyes, greyish-white spots in the mouth, fever, and more. It's transmitted most commonly through coughing and sneezing.
