Controlled Deer Hunt Scheduled In Norristown
A one-day controlled deer hunt will be held in Norristown in Jan. 2018.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A one-day controlled deer hunt will be held in Norristown on Jan. 17, 2018. Only non-antlered deer may be hunted.
The Montgomery County Division of Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites announced this week that the program, launched in 2005, would continue this year to control the population of the species in Norristown Farm Park.
There are strict rules for what hunters are allowed to use and who is allowed to hunt.

Applications must be submitted to the Norristown Farm Park via the following address: 2500 Upper Farm Road, Norristown, PA, 19403. Applicants should mark "deer hunt" on the bottom of the envelope. Included in the application should be: name, legal address, telephone number, driver's license number, PA hunting license number, WMU 5D antlerless tag number(s), and a self-addressed envelope for correspondence.
Only a 12-gauge shotgun can be used to hunt.

Applications must be postmarked by Nov. 30, and a public lottery will be held on Dec. 1. A total of 38 qualified hunters will be chosen at that time.
