Amidst the rain on Tuesday morning, local fire companies were dispatched to reports of a blaze on the Schuylkill River Trail in Norristown.
The fire was first reported just after 7 a.m. When crews arrived on the scene, a large area of brush and trees along the river was engulfed in flames, officials said.
Crews worked for nearly 2.5 hours to extinguish the blaze.
