Shoppers in multiple area stores have now encountered graphic photos of dead fetuses and anti-abortion messages hidden inside products.

The latest incident occurred recently at the Marshall's in Norristown, where a woman found the cards hidden inside purses.

"These cards were graphically offensive and startling," Beth Mihalovich, who is pregnant, told Patch. "Completely inappropriate."

Mihalovich said the manager at Marshall's told her the cards had been frequently found hidden in items around the store in recent days.

Patch has reached out to Marshall's for comment on the situation.

The phenomenon was first reported back in early August when a local mother, Annie Weiss, 31, of West Conshohocken, found the cards stuffed inside multiple items she had purchased at the King of Prussia Wegmans, including Luvs diapers.

"God hates the hands that shed innocent blood," one card at Wegmans read, while the reverse side showed a grisly picture of an aborted fetus.

Wegmans employees have since gone through the store in order to ensure the best customer experience and found 10 more graphic anti-abortion cards in various items.

The cards at Wegmans included a link to the website of Abolish Human Abortion. Repeated requests for comment from Patch have gone answered. It's not yet clear if the cards found at Marshall's were disbursed by individuals working with that organization.

"Whatever group is doing this is out of line and living in the dark ages," Mihalovich said. "Women need access to all types of healthcare and options when pregnant."

She added that the experience motivated her to donate to Planned Parenthood.
