PHILADELPHIA, PA — The wildest Wild Card weekend in recent football history is now in the books, and the last pieces of the puzzle in the Eagles playoff schedule are now finalized. The Birds will face off against their archrival NFC East foes, the New York Giants, in the divisional playoff round next weekend.

Game time is set for Saturday night prime time, 8:15 p.m., at Lincoln Financial Field in south Philadelphia.

"It's Giants week," the Eagles Twitter account sent out Tuesday morning, sharing a video of the infamous "Miracle at the New Meadowlands" during the 2010 postseason.

Doubtlessly, the Birds are hyped for what they hope are two straight home games in a row en route to their second Super Bowl appearance in five years. They're coming off a much needed bye week, hopefully allowing them to return to the field with early season MVP-candidate Jalen Hurts back at full strength. And they have to feel confident after beating the G-men in both of their regular season matchups.

But the Giants present no easy foe. The Eagles should know better than anyone that it's best not to underestimate an underdog, and the Giants are perhaps the most compelling dark horse story this postseason. Fueled by one of the game's preeminent backs in Saquon Barkley to breakout stars like wideout Isaiah Hodgins, the Giants have both the high ceiling offense and shutdown defense to compete with anyone on the right day.

Not to mention, they're coming off a huge win on the road against the heavily favored Minnesota Vikings. The Eagles will need to be ready to handle a team that has as much, if not more, momentum than any team in the league. The 2022 Giants finished the regular season 9-7-1. There are not a small number of similarities that can be drawn to another recent Giants team that finished 9-7: the 2011-12 Tom Brady defeating Super Bowl champions.

But as far the regular season was concerned, the Eagles were dominant, and the odds reflect that. The Eagles opened as 7 point favorites, with a -320 moneyline, according to Sportsbookwire. It's a less familiar position for a Philadelphia franchise with a history of thriving as the underdog.

Three of the final four teams in the NFC playoff picture are from the East division: the Birds, the Giants, and the Dallas Cowboys, who won big over Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys will play the San Francisco 49ers next weekend.

If the Eagles beat the Giants, they'll play the winner of the Dallas and San Francisco game in the NFC Championship. If the Eagles are in it, that game will be in Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, ticket costs for the upcoming home playoff game continue to be through the roof. Resale prices on Stubhub soared well over $11,000 by Tuesday afternoon. Eagles fans on social media are not happy. With neither the price or the process, which left some waiting for hours. Ticketmaster did not reply to a Patch request for comment on the ticket purchase process.
