Eagles Tickets Soar To $9K, 'Ridiculous' Process Deplored By Fans

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Playoff tickets for the Eagles return to the big stage are now on sale, and they're not cheap.

Tickets were made available Tuesday morning explicitly on Ticketmaster. Prices there started at $350 for the basic seats. Resale prices on sites like Stubhub swelled into the thousands within hours, soaring over $9,000 on Wednesday.

Eagles fans on social media are not happy. With neither the price or the process.

"Wait line for these Eagles playoffs tickets is ridiculous," a fan wrote on Twitter.

"It’s ridiculous," another said. "If you zoom in on map the amount of resale tickets is pathetic for a playoff game."

"Once again Ticketmaster is the bane of my existence," said another fan. "Tell me why there's entire rows of resale for RIDICULOUS prices already when tickets went on sale 30 mins ago. @Ticketmaster you have disgusting business practices. All I wanted was to be able to bring my dad to an @Eagles playoff game."

"How do some of y’all have the money to have gotten Phillies playoff tickets, Taylor swift tickets, and eagles playoff tickets??" one fan questioned. "Tell me what jobs you have so I know what to get my degree in please."

"They gotta go back to making people camp out for Eagles playoff tickets like the old days," another said.

Meanwhile, others have just lost the will to deal with these sort of ticket situations, ever.

"Good luck to everyone trying to get Eagles playoff tickets," the fan wrote. "Taylor Swift’s tour has traumatized me from joining any Ticketmaster queue for the rest of the decade."

The controversy comes after some Philadelphia sports fans spent thousands on Phillies World Series tickets, and others experienced similar difficulties with Swift tickets in Philadelphia in a widely-chronicled debacle in November.

Ticketmaster did not immediately reply to a request for comment from Patch on this story.

The exact date and time and matchup of the Eagles divisional round playoff game are yet to be determined, but the game will be played against the lowest seed of the Wild Card winners on either Saturday, January 21 or Sunday, January 22.
