East Norriton Native Saves Dog From Chinese Meat Truck: Report

About two million cats and dogs are killed for their meat and fur in China every year, statistics show.

An East Norriton native will be adopting a dog that was rescued off a Chinese meat truck, according to a Times Herald report.

Nicole Strauss, who currently lives in Lakenheath, England, co-founded an animal welfare non-profit, Pets Enriching Troops (PET), with her husband, Will, the report states.

PET was crucial is saving the dog, Moomkim, off of a Chinese meat truck, according to the report.

Moomkim, a Tibetan mastiff, was saved from becoming one of the two million cats and dogs rounded up every year and killed for their meat and fur in China, the report states.

The Strauss are active duty members of the Air Force, and moved to England full time when they were assigned there, according to the report.
